Outpatient Treatment Program in Baltimore:
Structured Support Built Around You
For many people, the hardest part of recovery is taking the first step. Our outpatient treatment program is designed to make that step possible: structured medical care, individual counseling, and a team that treats you with genuine respect, without asking you to leave your job, your family, or your community behind.
At The Caring Clinics, you keep your life while you rebuild it. With six locations across Baltimore and early morning hours, compassionate care is closer than you might expect.
What Does "Outpatient" Mean for Addiction Treatment?
Outpatient treatment means you receive clinical care without staying at a facility overnight. You come in for scheduled visits, receive your medication and counseling, and go home.
Structured outpatient programs go further than a basic medication appointment, combining medication management with individual counseling, group sessions, and coordinated health support. It’s a targeted level of care for people who need help: less than round-the-clock hospitalization, but more than a brief weekly check-in.
An estimated 25,000 to 27,000 people in Baltimore County are living with opioid use disorder. Most are better served by outpatient care that fits into their daily lives.
What's Included
in Our Outpatient
Substance Abuse Program
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)
Our program uses FDA-approved medications for opioid use disorder, including methadone and buprenorphine (Suboxone). Your medication is managed individually and monitored on a regular basis to maintain stability.
Individual Counseling
You’ll work one-on-one with a state-certified counselor to address the root causes of addiction, build healthier coping tools, and create a plan for long-term recovery. Our counselors hold Maryland state certifications in addiction counseling (CAC-AD and CSC-AD credentials) and include Licensed Master Social Workers.
Group Therapy
Structured group sessions give you the chance to connect with others who understand what you’re going through. These connections are one of the most meaningful parts of the recovery process.
Health Home Services
Clients meet with our care managers to evaluate general healthcare issues, schedule and follow up on appointments, help with care transitions, and connect them to community resources like housing, employment, and mental health support.

What Our

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between outpatient and inpatient addiction treatment?
Inpatient treatment requires staying at a facility with around-the-clock supervision. Outpatient treatment means you come in for scheduled visits and return home afterward. A structured outpatient program gives you medical and counseling support without removing you from your daily life.
Does your program use medication?
Yes. We offer FDA-approved medications for opioid use disorder, including methadone and buprenorphine (Suboxone). Medication is managed individually and adjusted as your treatment progresses.
How often will I need to come in?
Visit frequency depends on where you are in your treatment plan. Your care team will build a schedule with you that supports your recovery and daily routine.
Do I need a referral to get started?
No referral is required.
What if I've tried treatment before and relapsed?
Relapse is a common part of the recovery process. Our team works with patients through setbacks, and we will not judge you for your history.
Do you accept Medicaid or Medicare?
Yes. We accept Medicaid, Medicare Part B, Medicare Advantage, and several private insurance options. If you don’t have coverage, contact us and we’ll help you find a solution.
Will my information stay private?
Yes. Your records are protected by federal confidentiality laws that apply specifically to substance use treatment. We take your privacy seriously.
